Alright, so part of me understands this. For a guy with immense talent like Martavis Bryant, 15 catches for 204 yards and one touchdown in six games is certainly not the type of production he was probably hoping for after coming back from a one-year suspension. We all know the guy has something to prove this year. After all, the Steelers went out and drafted JuJu Smith-Schuster in the second round of last year’s draft for a reason.
Here’s the thing, though: this doesn’t look good on Bryant’s part. I get it he’s frustrated. I’m sure anyone in that position would feel the same way, too. But you can’t become a distraction to your team because you’re unhappy about not getting the ball enough. Especially when you just spent the last year being suspended for the entire season because you failed your 50th consecutive drug test. Besides, what’s this guy think is going to happen? Dude, Le’Veon Bell and Antonio Brown play on the same team as you. They’re going to get the ball more than you because they should. They’re better. That’s just reality.
All in all, this sucks for everyone involved because Bryant’s an immense talent, and he certainly makes the Steelers better. But if he’s going to continue being a distraction, maybe Kevin Colbert should ship his ass to the Giants.
