The more I think about this, the more it makes sense to me. I can’t really blame Le’Veon Bell for holding out of training camp. Look, I’ve never been on the verge of getting paid a contract that’ll set me for life before I even turn 30-years old, but I know this much – I wouldn’t risk that shit by going to training camp and potentially getting my knee blown out by some fuckhead, undrafted free agent just trying to make the 53-man roster. This isn’t to say the same thing could happen to Bell during week 1 of the regular season, either. The fact of the matter is Le’Veon Bell will be getting paid a king’s ransom next offseason, regardless if he gets hurt or not this season.

potentially getting hurt is still a TREMENDOUS excuse to get out of training camp. I mean, who in their right mind wants to be practicing two-a-days in 85 degree heat in the middle of August? Shit, I don’t even like golfing in 85 degree weather. It’s miserable. Can’t imagine having to sweat my balls off in pads while I try and dodge people running full speed at me trying to take me out. Besides, it’s not like guys like Le’Veon aren’t already conditioned or don’t know the playbook already. So maybe it’s not the greatest thing in the world for team morale or someone who’s trying to lead by example. But I’ll tell you this much. If I had as much pull as Le’Veon Bell, I’d be doing the same damn thing.

P.S. – Look at how much of that $12M is guaranteed.

Zero chance I’d go to training camp if I was him.
