It’s finally here, folks! It’s only taken 95 games, but Pirates Peep has officially arrived! Coming in hot straight off the bandwagon. You see, I gave the Buccos an ultimatum before this Brewers series even began. Either they were gonna win this series and Pirates Peep would become a thing (meaning I’d hang around past July at the least), or lose it and I’d be writing blogs about Aaron Carter and other dumb shit instead.
Good choice, Pirates. Because Aaron Carter’s a fucking mess right now.
Anyways, it was another YOUDGE win for the men in black and gold last night. After seven innings of lights out pitching from Gerrit Cole and Zach Davies, Brewers right fielder Domingo Santana took a garbage curveball from Juan Nicasio and slapped it over the Clemente Wall into the cheap seats in right for a solo shot to give the Brewers a 2-1 lead in the top of the 8th.
An inning and a half later, with the Bucs still trailing 2-1 in the bottom of the 9th, That’s Amore came to the plate with runners at the corners and flared one out into right to tie the game at two. Just another big time hit by the Italian. Two batters later, with two outs and runners on second and third, rookie infielder Max
Jagoff Moroff stepped up to the dish and popped a blooper into no man’s land in center to send the Buccos home victorious for the fifth time in six games post all-star break.
The Pirates now find themselves four games back of the division leading Brewers in the NL Central. And in case you haven’t been paying attention, the Pirates have been pretty hot over the past month and change.
They’re not quite on meth like the Dodgers (FYI – meth rots your teeth. However, you would’ve already known this if you watched the Aaron Carter video above.), but they’re HOT AF, nonetheless. But most importantly, they’re BACK. The season is now no longer over in July like everyone thought it was.
Finally, I just want to make it clear that I’m not going to let Joe Block win this series outright today.
Peep doesn’t go down without a fight. I’m coming for you, Joe!
