WPXI Pittsburgh – A Michigan man threatened to shoot restaurant staffers in North Oakland on Tuesday because they put onions in his food.
Police arrested Yuba Raj Sharma, 43, after the confrontation at the All India restaurant and charged him with terroristic threats, indecent exposure, resisting arrest and public drunkenness.
The argument began when servers put onions in Sharma’s order on Monday. He returned the next day drunk and angry, owner Ravinder Singh told police.
Singh asked Sharma to leave, and Sharma threatened to shoot him and made a motion indicating he had a gun in his pants, according to a criminal complaint.
The owner went to call 911 and an employee came out to tell Sharma to leave, police said. That’s when Sharma “flashed” the employee.
When officers arrested Sharma, he physically resisted being placed in the back seat of the cruiser.
This is a serious problem in the restaurant world. There’s nothing worse than when you make a simple out of the box request like “Can I have that with no onions?”, and your order inevitably comes back all fucked up. Something’s either getting lost in translation within the waiter/waitress to chef order delivery system, or one of the two are just saying “Ah, fuck it. You’ll it eat it the way we make it.” This kind of incompetence is unacceptable, and restaurants seem to screw this up CONSTANTLY.
Well, sometimes it takes a guy like Yuba to shake things up a bit in the restaurant world. So maybe he went a little overboard and threatened to shoot up the place (not the best idea to get a point across, in my opinion), but I can assure you one thing: All India will be woke as fuck the next time someone orders the chicken curry with no onions. Serve a customer some bullshit they didn’t ask for and someone may or may not end up with a bullet in the back of their skull. Or maybe they’ll just see a pair of dick and balls. Either way, that can’t be good for business.
