Pretty decent game by the Penguins today, if I’m being totally honest. After scoring only three goals in the first three games of the series, the Penguins have now scored ten in their last two. Perhaps they’ve figured out a remedy for Guy Boucher’s trap?

Today was one of those days where you’re going to look at the box score after the game and notice one or two guys that didn’t get their names on the stat sheet and you’ll be like “What the fuck, Guentzel? No shots on goal? Sad!” Well, you know what? If there’s anything these 2017 Stanley Cup Playoffs have told us, it’s that hammering your opponent by a touchdown only means you won one game. That’s it. Nothing more. Ask Edmonton what it felt like to go golfing two days after they embarrassed the Ducks, 7-1, in Game 6 of the Western Conference Semifinal. I’m not saying the Penguins are going to end up losing this series like Edmonton did (they’re not). I’m just saying don’t think that this win today means that the Penguins have already punched their ticket to the Stanley Cup Final. Just like in Game 5 of Round 1 and Game 7 of Round 2, the Penguins are going to need to play their very best game of the series in either Game 6 (or Game 7) to win this thing (although I’m not sure how they can play much better than today).

If Sid smirking at Dion Phaneuf doesn’t put a hop in your step, I don’t know what will.

Pens in 6.

P.S. – Steelers FTW.
