Unfortunately, sometimes we need reminded that a sport isn’t the most important thing in life. A lot of things come before baseball, and the overall health and well-being of an athlete is one of them. Regardless of the type, cancer is scary shit. Thoughts and prayers go out to Jamo for a speedy recovery. It’s great to see he has a positive outlook about all the adversity he’s faced over the past few years, but it’s tough not to feel bad for the guy. Tommy John surgery, hernia surgery, a liner to the skull, and now possibly testicular cancer. Just a brutal stretch. Jamo’s situation kind of reminds me a little bit of Penguin’s defenseman Olli Maatta’s. And if there’s one thing we saw with Olli Maatta, as long as you keep a positive mindset, you can get through the downs and eventually there will be a few ups in your life. Get well soon, Jamo.
