Look, this obviously sucks that our best player, who happens to have a checkered past of concussion problems, has another concussion. It sucks that it came in one of the worst times of the year against (I hate to say it) a very good team. It sucks that Conor Sheary has one, too. But you know what? This team isn’t going to roll over and die like most teams would. Not Mike Sullivan’s team. Not these Pittsburgh Penguins. We still have plenty of firepower to go around in guys like Geno, Kessel, Guentzel, and a bunch of others. Fleury’s playing on his head, we’re up 2-1, and Game 4 will be in front of our home fans tomorrow night. Do not count this team out. I repeat. DO NOT COUNT THIS TEAM OUT. This team is one of the most resilient teams I’ve ever seen in my entire life, and they’re not going to give up just because their very best player is out with a very uncertain injury.
Also, take it for what it’s worth, but this does not necessarily mean Sidney Crosby’s season is over. It’s well documented that Crosby lost the better part of two seasons due to a nasty concussion back in 2011. However, it took him a little over two weeks to bounce back from his most recent concussion episode back in October 2016. I’m clearly not a doctor (I’m actually just a pretty shitty blogger), but these concussion things are very individual. Just because he had a horrible one a few years ago doesn’t mean he’s going to have a horrible one again this time.
Pens in 6. Bye.
P.S. – I forgot to mention that there’s an extremely high probability the Capitals fuck up. What do you think, Neil Greenberg?
