Kudos to the Columbus Blue Jackets’ PR department for chalking this injury up to be “season-ending” when in reality they know damn well their season will be over in roughly 24 hours. A veteran move by the PR folks out there in Buckeye land, IMHO. They’re simply taking advantage of a naive fan base that doesn’t realize that A. broken bones take 4-6 weeks to heal, and B. there are roughly seven more weeks left in the Stanley Cup playoffs.

Guess those hog-sized balls will have to rest til next fall. Cue the violins.

P.S. – Thanks to the Maple Leafs, the Pens might not even have to face the Caps again this year in the second round. With the Caps now down 2-1, I wonder how they’re handling the adversity down in DC.
