It’s a sad day in the Burgh. It’s difficult for me to put into words exactly how much Dan Rooney meant to the Steelers, and to the NFL at large, because I’m so young. However, I’ll always remember watching him come up to the podium to receive the Lombardi Trophy after the Steelers beat the Cardinals in Super Bowl XLIII and I thought to myself, “Damn, this guy’s getting old.” Then, he proceeded to give one of the most articulate speeches of I’ve ever heard in my entire life.

R.I.P. Mr. Rooney.
