Hold onto your dick, Pens fans! There’s only 15 games left in the 2016-2017 regular season, and the Metropolitan Division title (as well as the President’s Cup Trophy, but who gives a shit really) is up for grabs.

Going into tonight, the Pens currently sit one point behind the first place Caps with 94 points. However, the Caps have played one more game than the Pens; meaning if the Pens win tonight, they’ll take sole possession of first place.

And it gets better. After tonight, the Penguins remaining schedule gets a little rosier. In fact, 8 of their last 15 opponents currently find themselves out of the playoff picture. Yes, they do have a few tough matchups left against teams like Chicago and Columbus. However, the Pens are straight up cruising as of late, winning their past five games with a depleted lineup.

The Capitals, on the other hand, have 8 more matchups against opponents who currently find themselves in the playoff picture, including Minnesota twice. They’ve also been shitting the bed at just the right time lately, losing their last four games in a row.

Advantage: Penguins

In a perfect world, the Pens will end up snatching away the Metro from the Caps, which will set up a first round matchup for them against a shitty team like the Leafs or the Islanders. Then, the Capitals and Blue Jackets can destroy themselves in a 7 game series while the Pens stay rested and ready to prey on one of these two teams in the second round.

And oh yeah, Sid and Geno have a real possibility have tying for both the Art Ross trophy and Rocket Richard trophy.

Not a bad time to be a Pens fan right now.
