This morning, the Penguins Twitter account decided to tweet out a #FBF so Penguins fans could remember the misery that is “The X-Generation.” For those that don’t quite remember, “The X-Generation” was the slogan the Penguins used during the 2003-2004 season to promote the team’s up and coming young players including Rico Fata, Matt Bradley, Ramzi Abid, Guillaume Lefebvre, Brooks Orpik, And Marc Andre Fleury. 4 out of 6 of those players turned out to be absolute jokes. As you might’ve expected, that season happened to be a complete and utter shitshow as fans watched the franchise begin to go downhill fast. Those Penguins finished the season with a league worst 58 points going 23-47-8-4, which also included an 18-game losing streak. Needless to say, Penguin fans weren’t really thrilled to rekindle the memory of “The X-Generation” today:
